Please Join us at the Consumers Energy STEM Lab for exciting hands-on STEAM activities! Come learn about STEAM in a fun and engaging way! Learn how to apply the engineering design process while building and programming robots, completing engineering challenges, exploring the Fab Lab, and so much more STEAM fun!
STEM Lab Homeschool Club Information:

All classes will be held on Tuesdays:

9:00am- 10:15am Ages 5-8 (Grades K-2)
o
10:30am- 12:00 pm Ages 9-11 (Grades 3-5)
o
1:00pm- 3:00 pm Ages 12+ (Grades 6-12)

Cost: $10 per class, some classes may have a consumable cost for use of the Fab Lab that should not exceed $10

Each month will have a theme!
•
Families must register and commit to a full month of classes.
•

September Theme: Engineering Adventures
Class Description: Students will engage in a variety of engineering challenges and use problem-based learning. We will explore structures, perform an egg drop, build cars using small motors, and much more! We will explore bridges and what makes them strong, and students will construct their own bridge. Students in grades 3+ will use the Fab Lab to design and engineer various projects.
Class Dates: September 3rd, 10th, 17th, & 24th

October Theme: The World of Chemistry

Class Description: Students will be mixing and measuring while exploring chemistry. We will be learning about the basic principles of chemistry and performing several hands-on experiments. Students will be exploring density and states of matter, making oobleck and slime, and so much more!

November Theme: Exploring Electricity & Magnetism

Class Description: Students will be exploring circuits and what causes electricity to flow. We will also discuss magnetism and how it affects our Earth. We will make electromagnets, work with the maglev theory, create our own circuits, play with Makey, Makey, and much more. Students in grades 3+ will use the Fab Lab during some of the lessons.

December Theme: Awesome Art! Putting the A in STEAM!

Class Description: Students will engage in a variety of art activities that incorporate STEAM. We will get creative and make projects in the Fab Lab that can be given as Christmas gifts. Students will learn how technology and creativity can combine to create beautiful works of art. Students of all ages will have the opportunity to use the Fab Lab during class.
